The Pit Bull named Freshy discovered himself deserted by his household, with his life remain only a few hours in a jam-packed animal shelter in New York. He used to live a delighted life with a household of 4 kids, 2 canines, and one feline. He was the meaning of the best household pet. What was when a huge delighted household for this house, quickly ended up being too frustrating when his owners conceived with another kid. They chose that having 3 pets was excessive for this household, and disposed Freshy at the shelter.
However, dealing with unbelievable heartbreak with the loss of his household is not all but he was also placed in an extremely high-kill shelter. With the high rate of animals coming through the doors, Freshy’’ s time was quickly going out. When October 11, 2018 came, this caring puppy had up until 5:00 pm to discover a caring house, or he would be euthanized. Thankfully, he had an effort Facebook user called Julie Carner on his side.
Julie Carner worked hard to spread out pictures of Freshy as far as she could, wanting to stand out of an interested adopter. With her pictures she had the ability to reach Alana Guerrini, a devoted foster and volunteer for the Eleventh Hour Rescue.
“You could see the fear and terror in his eyes in that picture [at the shelter], and you could see how brokenhearted he was,” Guerrini said. “I looked at that face, and it absolutely crushed me.”
Guerrini and her child hurried throughout town as rapidly as she could, combating the clock to make it to the shelter on time. With just minutes to spare, she was able to rescue Freshy from the euthanasia list. Freshy eagerly jumped into her car and was elated to be in the presence of a loving family again.
“He jumped into my car with no problems,” Guerrini said. “My son had gotten into the passenger seat, and he [Stormy] just climbed up onto my son’s lap, and you could see that with every little wiggle and face kiss that he was thanking him because he knew that he was going to live. He’s an angel.”
They branded him a new name Stormy and he started his new life with his foster household!
Freshy handled the brand-new name of Stormy, and started his brand-new life with his foster household! In his foster house he showed simply how caring he genuinely was, and how appreciative he was to be a part of a household once again.
“He wanted to sit in my son’s lap the whole time, so my son had to get into the back seat, and he spent an hour and a half riding home on my son’s lap,” Guerrini added. “The only time he got off of it was the dozen times he wanted to kiss me, too.” Guerrini could clearly see that Stormy had lived with a family before, but she was astounded to see how gentle he was with her son.
Alana truly fell in love with him and she knew she had to find the perfect family for him. After a few weeks of being on the hunt, she found an amazing home for the once abandoned pup.
“He was adopted and his family sends me pictures and videos a lot. He’s all smiles all the time and I couldn’t be happier for him. We do our best to help these babies. This is one very happy ending, and the new beginning he deserved!”- Guerrini.
Do people who drop their pets off at high-intake shelters really know what they are doing? If they knew just what happens to dogs after their owners walk out the door, shelters might be a lot more empty. No dog deserves to end up with the cards stacked against him – especially one who was once cherished as a family member and stalwart companion.
If you can no longer keep your pet and want to find him a good home, dumping him at a shelter may not be your best option. Every year, around 1.2 million dogs are put down at shelters across the U.S.
